Sulphur

           Sulfur or sulphur is a chemical element with symbol S and atomic number 16. Elemental sulfur was once extracted from salt domes where it sometimes occurs in nearly pure form, but this method has been obsolete since the late 20th century.

            Today, almost all elemental sulfur is produced as a byproduct of removing sulfur-containing contaminants from natural gas and petroleum. The element's commercial uses are primarily in fertilizers, because of the relatively high requirement of plants for it Plant which equates to or exceed those for phosphorus. It is one of the major nutrients essential for plant growth, root nodule formation of legumes and plants protection mechanisms;

           Other application of sulphur is in the manufacture of Sulfuric Acid, a primary industrial chemical. Other well-known uses for the element are in matches, insecticides and fungicides.

           Many sulfur compounds are odorous, and the smell of odorized natural gas and garlic is due to sulfur compounds. Hydrogen sulfide produced by living organisms imparts the characteristic odor to rotting eggs and other biological processes.

Iran is one of the biggest producers of sulphur in the world; Iran sulphur is recovered from gas and oil; therefore, it is called gas recovered and oil recovered.

*    The gas recovered sulphur is in two kinds: granular and lumpy

*    The main granular sulphur producers of Iran are located in BIK, Assaluyeh and Kharg Islands

*    The main lumpy sulphur producers of Iran are located in Sarakhs (Shahid Hashemi nejad Gas Refinery) and Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery.

The annual production of Iran Sulphur is exceeding 2.5 million tons among which around 500,000 metric tons are for domestic consumption and the remaining are exported to India, China, Pakistan, Vietnam, Africa,…

With our good connection with sulphur producers which rises from our reputable background, we can source any kind of sulphur from Iranian Origin to your desired destinations in break bulk or 20ft / 40ft containers.
